Political body, the relationship between the body in architecture as a scale
and the representation of power through space.
How do ideal bodies reflect a society’s ideological constructs, and how does architecture, in turn, embody and signify these values? The body in architecture was used as an inspiration to scale, both in terms of standard and anti-standard, thus questioning the very idea of a body archetype. Architecture as a political act serving the grand narratives of societies. It embodies both power and resistance.
